Caretower Announced as Winners at the Symantec UK and Ireland 2011 Channel Excellence Awards

On the 27th of January 2011 Symantec honored its newly formed Specialised Partner community with a specialised partner conference and gala awards dinner, recognising partners for their commitment to Symantec over the last year. More than 80 Symantec channel contacts attended to celebrate Symantec's recently announced Enhanced Partner Program, which enables partners to demonstrate and take to market their specialist expertise in the solution areas and growth markets they serve. The event focused on how partners can leverage Symantec specialisation to reinforce their trusted advisor status with customers and take advantage of the new higher level of support and engagement.

At the awards ceremony, Symantec named the winners of its 2011 Channel Excellence Awards. The awards recognise Symantec partners in the UK and Ireland that successfully combine Symantec solutions with their own services to solve customers’ most complex business challenges.

Channel Excellence Award Winners Caretower were named Symantec’s New Business Growth Partner of the Year. The winners of the 2011 Channel Excellence Awards were chosen by a panel of judges from Symantec’s UK and Ireland channel team and were presented by Danny Dawes, Director, EMEA Managed Security Services, Symantec.

Brocket Hall Golf Day

On the 8th of September Caretower held its annual golf day, held in association with McAfee at the world renowned Brocket Hall Golf Club in Hertfordshire. The purpose of the day was to develop relationships and discuss business challenges with our customers. The event presented a great opportunity to for our customers to network with their peers, Caretower account managers and experts from McAfee.

Greg Day, McAfee's Director of Security Strategy, teed-off the day with "Protecting the un-protectable" an insight into emerging threats and what McAfee are doing to combat them. This was followed by breakfast, 18 holes of Golf, a 3 course dinner and prize ceremony.

Brocket hall Golf Club's Palmerston course was named after former Prime Minister and Brocket hall resident Henry John Temple who held the title of Lord Palmerston. The par 73 Palmerston Course, designed by the renowned architect Donald Steel, wends its way through mature woodland. Rare Hornbeam, Scots and Corsican Pine and 300 year Oak Trees create some of the most spectacular hazards you are ever likely to encounter on a golf course.

Caretower Wins Sophos Corporate Partner of the Year at Annual Awards Ceremony

IT security and data protection firm Sophos has announced its annual partner awards, crowning Caretower as "Corporate Partner of the Year". Caretower was awarded the coveted title for the second year running based on the company's strong new and renewal business, as well as demonstrating commitment in areas of sales and product training.

The awards took place on 20 May at the Belfry Hotel, Oxford, as part of the Sophos UK Partner Conference 2010. This annual event gives Sophos partners an insight into the company's future plans and developments. This year, partners were invited to take part in team-building activities including axe-throwing and cross-bow shooting.

Caretower wins the CRN Security Reseller of the Year 2009/2010 Award

Caretower are proud to announce that they left this year's CRN awards triumphant after picking up the highly coveted Security Reseller of the year 2009 title at this year's CRN Channel Award.

The award ceremony, held on the 19th of November at the Battersea Park Events Arena in London saw 23 awards presented by CRN's host for the evening – comedian Rob Brydon. Caretower conquered stiff competition from 5 other top resellers at the event, to win the Security Reseller award on their first attempt.

The Security Reseller of the year award was launched in 2008 due to the proliferation of security as a top business consideration and the increase in demand for security services from all areas of the end user business community due to the number of high level data breaches over the past six months. VARs, integrators, service providers and resellers are all eligible for the award whether they are providing a range of specialist security services or just one focused service or bringing new security technologies to market.

The Reseller awards recognises excellence in the delivery of solutions, service and support to end user customers, taking into consideration the reseller's ability to deliver real benefits to the user organisation, and to meet customer objectives in terms of improved efficiency, ROI and investment protection, and cost reduction. Companies that demonstrate innovation in developing and bringing-to-market new concepts and solutions will also be candidates for these awards.

On the 16th of September Caretower held it's annual golf day, held in association with McAfee at the world renowned Woburn Golf Club in Milton Keynes. The purpose of the day was to develop relationships and share some of your business challenges in a more informal environment as well as getting a couple hole of golf in. The event presented a great opportunity to for our customers to network with their peers, Caretower account managers and experts from McAfee.

Greg Day, McAfee's Principal Analyst, teed-off the day with 'Optimized Security: Why Now is the time to act' a discussion on why businesses need to innovate when, in the current economic climate, instincts may be to sustain. This will was followed by breakfast, 18 holes of Golf, a 3 course dinner and prize ceremony.

Woburn Golf Club's Marquess course was selected this year as it has been used several times to host the European Tour's British Masters as well as the 'The Heritage' PGA European Tour event, and gave our customers a chance to test their skills in this tree-lined course.

Caretower are currently hosting a series of "hands-on" three day training course designed to give customers practical experience using McAfee's ePolicy Orchestrator. By the end of the training course, amongst other things, you will be able to:

  • Integrate ePO into your network environment with ease
  • Describe the components and features of McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator
  • Determine pre-requisites for installation and understand deployment options
  • Install ePolicy Orchestrator Server
  • Create and use named policy objects and concept of inheritance

  • Deploy and manage VirusScan Enterprise 8.5i
  • Manage Global Updating and manage global updates

McAfee Endpoint Encryption Training

McAfee Endpoint Encryption hands on training

Following on from the successful hands on ePO 4 course, Caretower are pleased to present their latest addition to their 'hands on' training courses; McAfee Endpoint Encryption. McAfee Endpoint Encryption (formally SafeBoot) has become the quintessential piece of preboot encryption software for mobile technology and these training courses has been specifically created to aid security professionals prevent data loss, protect sensitive data and secure their mobile workforce whilst out on the road.

There are two courses available that cover Enpoint Encryption; The four-day Comprehensive Course covers all aspects of Endpoint Encryption, whilst the two day Advance Course just focuses on the advanced features of Endpoint Encryption. The courses will both cover the following points in detail

  • Planning, Planning, implementing and managing Endpoint Encryption
  • Using group mapping
  • Creating encryption keys
  • Adding content encryption policies
  • The advance features such as integration with McAfee’s ePO and active directory synchronisation

Caretower holds Madejeski Seminar

With the Code of Compliance deadline passed, organisations are still looking for information and guidance on their legal and regulatory responsibilities called for in the Data Protection Act, GCSx Code of Compliance (CoCo), the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) as well as general audit compliance.

Caretower, in conjunction with McAfee and LogRhythm, held a one-day seminar at Reading Football Club's Madejski Stadium on Tuesday the 9th of June 2009. At this seminar LogRhythm showcased their signature comprehensive log data collection and management technology; McAfee will demonstrate how easy LogRhythm's Log Management solution can be integrated with McAfee ePO, their security management technology, and present their data loss prevention solutions.

The day started with an overview of Caretower by the Managing Director Phydos Neophytou.

Ross Brewer, the Managing Director of LogRhythm gave a demonstration of their Log Management technology with view to achieving compliance. The Log Management technology has been designed to collect log data from across an enterprise regardless of their source, present the logs in a uniform and consistent manner and manage the state, location and efficient access to those logs.

From the McAfee side, Paul Roberts, two systems engineers, gave a demonstration of McAfee's Data Loss Prevention products including Device control, Endpoint Encryption and McAfee's encrypted USB key.

Following the presentations guests welcomed to participate in practical demonstrations of both McAfee and LogRhythm technologies.

To add even more value to the event Caretower enlisted the Help of Mark Brett to deliver the keynote address. Well known in the industry, Mark Brett is the chief information Assurance Advisor to the LGA and Socitm's Lead Officer for Information Assurance. Mark is also the principal author of the Local Authority Data Handling Guidelines.

The keynote address explained the Local Government Information Assurance landscape as well as expanding upon the overlaps between the GCSx, CoCo, PCI DSS compliance and data handling.
