With the Code of Compliance deadline passed, organisations are still looking for information and guidance on their legal and regulatory responsibilities called for in the Data Protection Act, GCSx Code of Compliance (CoCo), the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) as well as general audit compliance.
Caretower, in conjunction with McAfee and LogRhythm, held a one-day seminar at Reading Football Club's Madejski Stadium on Tuesday the 9th of June 2009. At this seminar LogRhythm showcased their signature comprehensive log data collection and management technology; McAfee will demonstrate how easy LogRhythm's Log Management solution can be integrated with McAfee ePO, their security management technology, and present their data loss prevention solutions.
The day started with an overview of Caretower by the Managing Director Phydos Neophytou.
Ross Brewer, the Managing Director of LogRhythm gave a demonstration of their Log Management technology with view to achieving compliance. The Log Management technology has been designed to collect log data from across an enterprise regardless of their source, present the logs in a uniform and consistent manner and manage the state, location and efficient access to those logs.
From the McAfee side, Paul Roberts, two systems engineers, gave a demonstration of McAfee's Data Loss Prevention products including Device control, Endpoint Encryption and McAfee's encrypted USB key.
Following the presentations guests welcomed to participate in practical demonstrations of both McAfee and LogRhythm technologies.
To add even more value to the event Caretower enlisted the Help of Mark Brett to deliver the keynote address. Well known in the industry, Mark Brett is the chief information Assurance Advisor to the LGA and Socitm's Lead Officer for Information Assurance. Mark is also the principal author of the Local Authority Data Handling Guidelines.
The keynote address explained the Local Government Information Assurance landscape as well as expanding upon the overlaps between the GCSx, CoCo, PCI DSS compliance and data handling.
